What Nathan said last night.

We were arriving at the gym and I jokingly said, "Look honey, it looks like Yoga just started, you should go try it!"

He replied, "No, yoga isn't really a workout."

OMG.

He kept trying to explain that it is more just to make you flexible, and I finally just had to tell him to stop talking. God forbid someone that actually does yoga would hear him.

Yikes.

I kinda agree with him...

Really??? That surprises me. I would have figured you and Ali would argue that while it helps make you flexible it is a workout at the same time.

you have to define workout :) it's definitely an incredibly wonderful thing to do for your body and has a MULTITUDE of health benefits. however, if you are wanting aerobic fitness to increase endurance or lose weight or work on your heart, it isn't the prime choice. but it IS a workout, just maybe not what most people are seeking...

in other news, let's hang out soon!

You should have made him go do it, so he would know first hand!! :)
I love yoga. C and I did it 3 times a week for 2 years, and I was in the best shape of my life (that was like 4 years ago though).
Yoga may not make you sweat and pant like most people associate with 'working out' (although there are some forms that do), but I swear it works more muscles than any other form of exercise I've ever done!

I think it depends on what kind of yoga you do. My sister does the "hot" bikram yoga and the fast-paced power vinyasa and trust me, she has the abs to prove it.

Make him take a bikram class. Ask him if that was a workout afterwards when he's a sweat puddle and crying in pain.
