Today at the gym was really difficult. I had set a goal to do 10 miles on the elliptical and made sure to tell a couple people my goal for the day, that way I didn't wimp out. Because some crazy part of me has to complete something when I tell it to anyone.
Let me just say today hurt. My legs felt like they could fall off since mile 1 and I had a mix of nausea and exhaustion at mile 9. Somehow I did it though....10 miles in 2 hours and 4 minutes. I was a little pissed I could hit the exact 12 minute mile mark, but I was in freaking pain.
Also gym related...I am so upset about my mp3 player. Nathan had found me a decent one about a week before my birthday and sometime when it was in my bag the screen cracked and all this black crap blocks the screen. I don't mind not having a screen but I have to go through an options menu to get to my music and sometimes I can't even find it. I am so freaking frustrated.
So now I may just fork out some money for a new one. Maybe an Ipod shuffle? I definitely don't want to spend over $100 (more like $50 would be ideal) because we are really trying to cut back on our spending.
Oh and I was going to post pics of my fabulous birthday like I promised last week, but I am having some photo trouble. grrrr....

I know it was such hard work, but you are seriously a rock star for pushing through. That really sucks about your MP3 player. I have no advice as to what a good one is. I'm sorry!
we bought austin a good mp3 player from wal-mart that was pretty cheap. go there and look. it wasn't an ipod, but it's basically the same thing. i think you can get one of those teeny tiny ipods for $50 at best buy....no screen though.
Good job for doing 10 miles! Don't feel bad about feeling tired; it was so hot and humid today that I'm sure the gym environment wasn't ideal.
Holy crap!!! You do the elliptical for 2 hours! I can only do it for 30 minutes without dying...and I thought that was good!!! Way to go, girl :)
I use my ipod shuffle for working out and love it!! It is small and just clips on your shirt and I think they are $50 now at Walmart.
The drawback is you pretty much need to just have a workout mix that you play rather than wanting to select songs. The only option is shuffle or play straight through.
I'm with Lauren - holy crap!! And you'll be proud...I just joined club fitness in rock hill last night!!!
Dude, you rock. 10 miles is awesome, and it's so hard when the first mile is like that, so I'm proud of you for pushing through!
I have a Nike Phillips mp3 player that I got on eBay years ago, and I love it. I can wear it out in the rain if I run outside and it's made to take a beating. I never bought an iPod cuz this thing is just too resilient! And I break a lot of crap...
