Blessings

In the last year, I've had many, many blessings. One of them has been an addition of some great friends. This morning I was truly touched by what one of these great friends wrote about the newest addition to her family.

I am sure most of my subscribers read Mary's blog. If not, just take two minutes to go here and read her latest post. And if you already read her blog, read the post again. I think even if you aren't a dog lover you can appreciate it.

Quote of the week.

First off, lots of stress in Teresaland. Of course it is mostly work related.

One thing that really set me off this week, I was in the middle of a semi heated conference call with Boss #2 and #3. They were both concerned with my budget for one of my accounts for September. I could only provide limited information, because Boss #1 handles most of the financials for this account even though I manage it. I won't go into any more detail than that because I can already sense some of you falling asleep. Anyway, I promise them I will discuss the financials with Boss #1 and one of us will call them back. I quickly do so and warn Boss #1, "They are both kind of upset."

I sit in Boss #1's office while he calls 2 and 3 back. He proceeds to have a quick, light hearted conversation, gets off the phone and says in a strong questioning voice, "They were mad? They didn't seem mad."

I get pissed and say, "Of course they weren't mad at you! They never get mad at you! It's like you have fucking rainbows flying out of your ass!!!"

Boss #1 is laughing so hard he has tears in his eyes. "What the hell does that mean?"

Even though I didn't even understand what I said I reply, "They always do this, they get all pissed at me and then they treat you totally different!"

But regardless, apparently now rainbows flying out of someone's ass is a good thing.

A great quote from Write in my Journal....

If you aren't reading Write in my Journal, you should.

I really liked this quote from today's post:

"Sometimes through writing you begin to understand what you believe. You can’t decide what you believe, if you had to decide what you believe in you truly do not believe it."

Also the post right before it is full of good stuff from a man named Emilo.

Please put off the vibes....

...until Wednesday. They had to reschedule Nathan's interview due to a scheduling conflict.

So now we have a weekend and a few days to be nervous about it!

This has to be quick....

but I just wanted to come on and post that....

Nathan is interviewing for a promotion tomorrow. It is a totally obtainable for him, but a few other well qualified people are going for it too. We really need all the good vibes we can get on this one. He has been through so many interviews, some with company his current company and others without and he has been passed by each time. He gets his hopes up so much, and each time his disappointment is really heavy on my heart. Plus, having him on day shift reminds me of how lonely I am when he switches back to nights and in this new position he would be mostly days. So, please, please send good vibes his/our way. Cross every finger you can, say a prayer (if you do), or think something positive for us.

Oh and I came home yesterday to a HUGE hole in our yard. If it isn't filled by the time I get home I will take a pic. I could explain it now, but if I can snap a few pics it is worth having a separate post about it!

Do you know how many readers you have?

In my last post a couple of people asked how I knew how many people subscribe to my blog. I don't know if this is the only way to find out, but I just added my blog to my Google Reader. Then you just look at the "show details" tab and you will see how many readers you have through GR.

It also shows you how many posts you average per week. Currently mine is 3.3. I would like it to be more like 4....so I need to keep getting suggestions on what you would like to be reading, so keep them coming!!!

Give the people what they want!

Ok, I will admit it...a couple times a week I check and see how many people are subscribing to my blog via the fab Google Reader. And this morning I noticed my subscribers jumped up. Not a lot by any means, but still a decent amount for my not very well known blog.

I am curious as to what you would like to see more of on blog. Cooking adventures? Wine musings? Random Teresa, Nathan, and Roxie life? My workout successes and fails? The quest to be more sustainable/budget stuff?

So feel free to post and let me know.

Everyone have a great weekend!!
